Hotel Ariston (Standard Room) (Taormina)

The Ariston is a well-established hotel, popular with UK holiday-makers. They provide a friendly service and the location is just outside the main centre of Taormina 'old town', close to the cable car which takes you down to the beaches & Giardini Naxos, which means in a few minutes walk guests can enjoy the best of both worlds! Rooms are comfortable and quite spacious although some areas of the hotel are in need of some updating. For a supplement clients can upgrade to a room with balcony (on request). Great views from the pool and garden area!.

Bedroom: Standard rooms do not have a sea view. Balcony available at a supplement. No smoking rooms available on request.

Restaurant: Restaurant serving Mediterranean & international cuisine.

Bar: Bar serving light snacks.

Business facilities: Hotel has a meeting room.

Family facilities: Family rooms available on request.

Disabled facilities: Not suitable for wheelchair users as there are many steps up to the hotel. There are no specially adapted rooms.

Within 20 minutes walk: Centre of Taormina including shops, restaurants and bars. Cable car to sea level.

Pool: Outdoor pool open usually April until October but depending on weather.

Transport Connections

Airport(s): Taxi direct from Catania airport approx. 70 - 90 euro. Company 'APT' runs a bus every 20mins from approx. 5am until midnight to and from the central station of Catania. From here train to Taormina-Giardini station (approx. 4 euro) then short taxi ride or cable car up to Taormina then 5 min walk. 'Etna trasporti' (www.etnatrasporti.it) run a bus which goes to Giardini Naxos and Taormina from the airport. Frequency will depend on season so check websites or tourist office.

Train: Cable car to go down to sea level (Giardini Naxos & Letojanni areas). Bus stop is 50m from hotel.

Parking: Limited parking close to hotel, some payable parking in same area - clients should check with reception.
