First opened in 1958, this hotel has become a landmark with the Berliners and has seen many changes since its early days. With over 700 rooms it can also boast being one of the biggest hotels in the city but still maintains and a relaxed and informal feel for your leisure stay. A Restaurant steeped in gastronomic history, a pretty garden terrace restaurant and buzzing bar specializing in cocktails, with a range of coffees and teas with selection of finger foods make this a great option. Rooms are spacious, well appointed and the overall feel of the hotel is bright and uplifting. Bedroom: The spacious rooms offer well appointed accommodation that is both bright and uplifting. Reception: The reception is manned 24hrs per day and offers the following services: Porterage, currency exchange, dry cleaning and excursion booking facility. Restaurant: The hotel's pride and joy "Julius" first opened in 1958 by the hotel's owner Mr Julius Sauter, with a passion for food he introduced a restaurant with dishes hailing from his home region of Baden. Over the years it became known as "one of the places to go" particularly during thew 1960's when the grill house as it was then became particularly popular. The restaurant still goes strong and today offers a range of traditional dishes mixed with a hint of international flavours. The restaurant opens between 12pm - 3pm and 6pm - 12am. There is also a charming garden restaurant surrounded by lush trees and flora, its purpose is to create a small oasis in the big city. The restaurant operates from May to September. Breakfast room: Breakfast is taken in the main restaurant from 6.30am - 10am. Bar: Bar Berlin is a buzzing little bar offering a great atmosphere to soak up. Drinks, coffee, snacks, light meals and finger food is offered. Weather permitting this also opens into the pretty gardens and becomes an extension of the Garden Restaurant. The bar opening hours are from 11am - 2am. Business facilities: Excellent conference facilities holding up to 1200 people within a range of different room sizes from hall (holding 500 persons) to theatre style holding up to 1200 persons). The hotel is also able to provide audio visual equipment and can organise banquets and functions for up to 460 persons. Family facilities: Family rooms are available, baby cots and high chairs can be requested. A children's menu and professional baby sitting facilities can also be organized for small children. Disabled facilities: Ramps for wheelchair access, lifts with wide doors and ramp access to all public areas is available. Public toilets have also been modified. Other facilities: Beauty salon / Hair dressers available Monday - Friday 10am - 7pm and Saturday 10am - 3pm. The shop also has gift shop / newsstand available every day except Sundays between 7.30am - 12pm and 3.30pm - 7.30pm.
