A classic choice, this prestigious little hotel sits in the bustling centre of Lisbon overlooking "Rossio" Square. Metropole just exudes style and sophistication and from its original beginnings as a hotel back in 1917, much of the original furniture has been preserved to capture the classic era. Many of the guest rooms have their own unique flair, given the hotel's wonderful architectural style. The bustle is magnificent, the colour and vibrancy of the surrounding area is beautiful with all the areas you need at your finger tips. One of Lisbon's most classic coffee shops sits directly below so you can enjoy a shot of strong coffee with a delicious "Pastal de Nata", worth it for this alone!. Bedroom: Elegantly styled bedrooms, all in different sizes and furnished in their own unique way. Many of the rooms have antique furnishings and if you are lucky..... great city views!. Guests have free internet access from the internet corner. Reception: The reception is situated on the first floor (accessed via a lift) and is manned 24hrs a day. Breakfast room: The breakfast is a buffet style and offered from 6.30am - 10.30am. Bar: Open 3pm to midnight. The bar is located in the lobby / lounge and offers views out to Rossio Square. Family facilities: The hotel is more suited to couples, although some rooms can accommodate an extra bed. High chairs and baby cots are also available and baby sitting services can be arranged through reception. Disabled facilities: There is a lift to take guests to the 1st floor where reception can be found. A bedroom has also been specially adapted for the disabled traveler to offer easy WC access. Within 20 minutes walk: St. George Castle, Rossio Square, Alfama, Baurro Alto, Chiado, Sé Cathedral, Praca Do Comercio, Restaurants, Bars and shops, Eduardo VII, Botanical Gardens. Transport ConnectionsAirport(s): Bus No 91 is a direct link from the airport, c. 4.00 Euros and stops at Rossio Square. A Taxi direct will take approx. 20-25mins c. 15-20 Euros. Train: The bus stop at Rossio Square is just a stones throw from the hotel, 150m and the metro is just a little further. Public transport links from the hotel are second to none.
