The Monte do Casal Hotel Algarve is a stunning find, hidden from the crowds and for those that appreciate something a little special. Originally an 18th century country house that has been restored to a splendid haven for adults only to enjoy sumptuous surroundings, fine gastronomic delights to Michelin standards and the most stimulating treatments in the idyllic spa. A unique feature, each is your personal maid who delivers your breakfast to be enjoyed on the lovely terrace. Officially rated 4 stars, we consider this to be 5 star quality on several levels.

Bedroom: The deluxe rooms are south facing and have French windows leading to a private terrace where your breakfast is served each morning. Your room overlooks the swimming pool and the garden with panoramic views to the coast. Marble bathrooms, full bath and shower, individual air-conditioning and "Casablanca" ceiling fans. The rooms are larger than the standard twins.

Reception: The reception is not manned 24hrs per day. Late arrivals need to advise at time of booking.

Restaurant: The restaurant is award winning and offers a range of local dishes with a fusion of French classic cuisine and Thai influences. There is also a vegetarian option. During the summer, the terrace is the ideal place to enjoy a wonderful meal, under the pergola perhaps and with views of the stunning garden. The Old Coach House restaurant offers a warm and cosy setting with hidden alcoves and subdued lighting to create a warm and intimate feel. Live entertainment is provided four evenings a week and ranges from classic guitar to Fado.

Breakfast room: Your maid will deliver a carefully prepared breakfast to your room daily (at a time that suits you) which can then be enjoyed on the privacy of your own terrace / balcony.

Bar: Relaxed and informal cocktail bar for a pre-dinner aperitif. The bar is open from 10am daily.

Garden: The hotel is also offers the Algarve's first private botanical gardens. It offers stunning lakes and a specially created waterfall which offers a relaxing getaway for everyone.

Family facilities: The hotel is not suited to families and are only encouraged during peak season in July and August.

Within 20 minutes walk: Estoi Palace, Roman Archeological Site - Milreu.

Transport Connections

Airport(s): A bus from the airport goes to Estoi for 5€ per person (subject to change). The stop is 3km from the hotel so a taxi will be needed for the short journey from Estoi to the hotel. A taxi direct may also be taken from the airport for approx. 25 - 30 Euros. Given the location of the hotel a rental car may be the best solution for convenience during your stay. He hotel can also arrange a private limousine transfer to / from the hotel. And for those wanting a private helicopter transfer, the hotel also offers a private helipad.

Train: The nearest bus stop from the hotel is Estoi. This is 3km from the hotel.
