Hotel Villa Aminta (Stresa)

The Villa Aminta has been lovingly restored by the owners to become an established, refined hotel, offering guests a charming base for their stay on Lake Maggiore. Many original features have been retained, contributing to the elegant style of the hotel. Public areas are decorated with luxurious yet subtle touches and this is also reflected in the bedrooms which obviously vary in size due to the nature of the villa, but are all beautifully decorated. Guests can enjoy a swim in the pool, relax on the beach or on the terrace overlooking the Lake. A shuttle bus provides transport to Stresa centre if required (last shuttle bus is at 6pm, it runs everyday), and for those wishing to really arrive in style, there is a helicopter service! Newly opened in 2008 is the new wing of the hotel, the 'Palazzo Aminta' which includes beautiful suites & a beauty spa.

Restaurant: Two restaurants, 'Ai Mori' alla carte restaurant serving Italian specialities and 'Le Isole' restaurant serving local & regional cuisine (Half & Full board guests will dine in 'Le Isole'). Open 7am - 10am, 12.30pm ' 2.30pm & 7.30pm - 10pm. Closed October until March.

Lounge: Relaxing Tapestry & Piano lounge.

Bar: 'Dei Principi' bar. Open 10am - 1am, April until September. Also serves light snacks.

Business facilities: Meeting room for up to 100 people.

Family facilities: Maximum of one extra bed in rooms but hotel also has interconnecting bedrooms available on request. Cots & high chairs also available.

Disabled facilities: Hotel has ramps and wheelchairs can access lifts. Specially adapted rooms are available on request.

Beach: Private beach on the lake shore.

Within 20 minutes walk: Town centre of Stresa (just). Shops & restaurants.

Gym: Mini gym Open 7am - 10pm. Payable locally at 20 euro/day.

Golf: There are various golf courses close to the hotel including Les Borromees & Club Alpino, both around 6km away.

Sports: Private tennis court payable locally at 14 euro/hour.

Transport Connections

Airport(s): From Milan Malpensa there is the Alibus bus service direct from the airport to Lake Maggiore. Seats need to be reserved in advance (contact hotel for tel. numbers). Alternatively a bus or taxi to Milan town centre and a train from Milan to Stresa (between 1 and 1 ½ hours).

Train: Train station is approx. a 25 min walk or short taxi ride. Buses & boats from town centre. The hotel has a private shuttle bus to/from Stresa centre (contact hotel for timetable).

Parking: Private parking, free to guests. Also three private moorings for boats.
